Live the joys of winter

In Quebec, the winter season is definitely the one that seems to be the longest because the snow stays on the ground during more than five months. In November, the first snowflakes start to cover the frozen ground. Slowly, the rivers and lakes are covered with ice and time seems to stop. With each new snowfall, tree branches put on a lovely white coat that also covers fields and houses. And with each new snowfall, Quebec's inhabitants find a new way to celebrate winter. Winter in Quebec is the chance for you to put your nose out and do all kinds of outdoor activities. You can choose the classics like alpine skiing, snowboarding or cross country skiing. Other activities have been created throughout the years, as Quebecers were adapting themselves to this cold season. You can try kite-surfing, which means that you are on your alpine skis or your snowboard but you are pulled by a kite, or try dogsledding, which is becoming more and more popular in all the regions of the province.

Take the time to admire the beautiful white landscapes, and take advantage of the Quebecer's cleverness in their adaptation to winter. Travel down the provincial paths on a snowmobile, or use the snowshoeing paths that will lead you to unexploited territories. Come climb the icy cliffs for a better look from the top, or participate in the numerous festivals that celebrate the joys of winter everywhere in the province.
