Skating
In Quebec, most of the cycling paths allow people to do in-line skating along their paths. It's a more and more popular sport, and you will even find rental centres in some regions, near the cycling paths. Remember, though, that you will have to share the road with cyclists and walkers. Respect is then a golden rule to follow when using those paths.
In the winter, numerous frozen lakes and rivers allow people to do ice skating. Among the paths you can use are the canal Rideau in the Outaouais region, or the lac Beauport in Québec. Several cities and towns have outdoor skating rinks or paths that invite young and old to enjoy winter's fresh air.
The indoor skating rinks allow, for their part, to practice sports like speed and ice skating. In most of the regions, skating clubs offer private lessons or free access to the rinks.
