Wildlife Reserves
Quebec has 15 wildlife reserves. They are well distributed on the territory, but are particularly popular north of the St. Lawrence River. These reserves are part of the Parcs Quebec network, but unlike national parks, they allow visitors to fish and hunt on their territories.
Canoe-camping is one of the most popular activities in the wildlife reserves, since most of them are located on territories that abound with rivers and lakes. Most of the reserves allow the practice or fruit picking, hiking or wildlife observation in the summer, and cross-country skiing, snowmobling or snowshoeing in the winter.
Some wildlife reserves offer out of the ordinary activities, like a ride in an inflatable canoe in the réserve faunique de Portneuf, or dogsledding in the wildlife reserves of Papineau-Labelle and of the Saint-Maurice, or horseback riding in the reserve faunique des Chic-Chocs.
Whether you are a fishing or hunting enthusiasts or if you enjoy the outdoors, visit Quebec's wildlife reserves. You will discover beautiful and breathtaking landscapes.
