Outfitters
More than 600 outfitters can be found in the province of Quebec. An outfitter is a designated territory where you can do hunting and fishing, as well as a great number of outdoor activities. In fact, these territories abound in small and big game and are their rivers and lakes are full of fish. That allows moose, white-tailed deer, hare or barnacle goose hunting. In the rivers, you will catch pike, Atlantic salmon, walleye or tilefish.
The outfitters allow the practice of activities on their territory whatever the season. You can, among others, try ice fishing in the winter, or slide on the snow, try dogsledding or snowmobiling. In the summer, the nice weather allows visitors to do canoeing, canoe-camping, hiking, wildlife observation, horseback riding or quad.
To extend your stay, you can sleep in a fully-equipped cottage, or in a rustic campground or in a campground with services. In winter, some outfitters offer the ultimate adventure and invite you to sleep in a typical Quebec igloo. For a real and unique Quebec experience, choose a region and go for the adventure in an outfitter!
