Cider Factories
Quebec has numerous cider factories, mainly on the Île d'Orléans near Québec, on the Île-aux-Coudres in Charlevoix and in the Chaudière-Appalaches, the Laurentides and the Montérégie regions. For several years now, cider has undergone a revival of popularity. It was illegal for several years in the 1970s, when it finally made a comeback in the grocery stores, but the demand was so high that producers made poor quality products.
Fortunately, today things have changed. Ciders are made according to the rule book, and some artisans have even developed original mixes to produce delicious and refreshing drinks. Taste the syrupy ciders, ice ciders, or sparkling ciders, perfect for special occasions or for daily events. Some producers put a little taste of their region in their ciders, which gives them a unique taste.
