Chocolate Factories

Chocolate FactoriesWho has never been attracted by the delicious flavour of hand-made chocolate? This delicious sweet was born from a recipe used by the Mayas and Azteques. This energizing and nourishing drink was made from grilled or grinded cocoa beans and seasoned with natural spices. The drink was exported in Europe towards the 16th century, and throughout the years, chocolate makers transformed it into a delicious sweet. In Quebec, several chocolate factories went into business to satisfy the sweet tooth of the inhabitants as well as that of the visitors. On the Île d'Orléans near Québec, in the Laurentides and in several other regions, you will find chocolate factories where the delicious sweet is hand-made. Most of the establishments also use regional products to make unique fine chocolates.
