Festivals & Events
Quebec is well-known for its numerous festivals and events of all kinds. They draw people from everywhere in Quebec, Canada and around the world. Everything is a good reason to celebrate in Quebec, and we particularly like to celebrate culture of the province, but also that of the other ethnic groups established here for several years.
Montréal is without a doubt the city that hosts the largest number of events in Quebec. Year round, festivals follow one another, like the Festival de jazz, the Festival de l’humour Juste pour rire, the Festival Nuits d’Afrique, to name but a few. The Festival western de Saint-Tite, for its part, draws more than 500,000 visitors each year, who come from more than 10 different countries.
Let’s not forget to mention the numerous events, concerts and shows presented each year in every region of Quebec. You will be able to enjoy large-scale events such as important conventions or anniversaries like the one Québec City celebrated in 2008 for its 400th anniversary. Sports event also draw people, like hockey and football in Montréal, or university football in Québec, Sherbrooke and Montréal, or junior league hockey in La Beauce and other regions. Whatever your favourite music, or your favourite type of event, you will surely find one you will like in one of the regions of Quebec.
